House in the woods. Sintra, Portugal
A forest of pines is the chosen place for a holidays house. The relationship with the environment must be intense, but at the same time the house must be locked up for long periods without use. A regular structure of modules is adapted to respect the trees that give rise with their presence to a collection of patios. The configuration of each space in an answer to the needs of the different uses, adapting its opening to patios and the slope of the roof to enjoy the treetops and light at different times of the day. The patios illuminate the interior during the daytime and can be opened to the outside by large sliding doors or remain closed in a more intimate and protected setting.
